A method for determining content of fluid or the other characteristic values is provided to determine the content or the characteristic value in case of fluid used in vehicle and engine oil have a plurality of contents. A method for determining content of fluid or the other characteristic values comprises a step of determining one or a plurality of variables detected by one or a plurality of sensors. The fluid variables detected by a sensor are evaluated in connection with specific characteristic value using an automatic classification method. The variables detected by the sensor are evaluated using statistical classifying method.
