Three inverter modules (52) with switching transistors are coupled to each other on a base. The first inverter module is separated from the second inverter module by a distance (106,108,110). The third inverter module is separated respectively from the second and first inverter modules by second and third distances. The distances are equal. An electronic control unit has a processor that controls the electric motor, the direct current power supply, and the inverter modules.
