Device and method for searching satellite signals

The present invention is related to a method for searching for satellite signals with a global navigation satellite system receiver, comprising the steps of:
- programming a reconfigurable logic device comprised in the global navigation satellite system receiver with instructions for signal acquisition,
- acquiring the satellite signals by means of said reconfigurable logic device,
- reprogramming the reconfigurable logic device to make it operable as a tracking device,
- tracking the acquired satellite signals by means of the reprogrammed reconfigurable logic device.
