INK-JET MEDIUM COATING INCLUDING EPOXY-FUNCTIONALIZED INORGANIC PARTICULATE AND AMINE-FUNCTIONALIZED INORGANIC PARTICULATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print medium with a porous ink-receiving layer which can improve ink absorbing speed and a coloring gamut without causing crack and haze.

SOLUTION: The print medium can include a medium substrate and the porous ink-receiving layer coated on the medium substrate. The porous ink-receiving layer can include amine-functionalized (14) metal oxide particulates or amine-functionalized (14) semi-metal oxide particulates and epoxy-functionalized (16) metal oxide particulates or epoxy-functionalized (16) semi-metal oxide particulates. At least a part of the amine-functionalized (14) particulates are covalently bonded (20) with at least a part of epoxy-functionalized particulates. A binder can optionally be present in the porous ink-receiving layer.
