PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data repeater or the like capable of improving communication efficiency by greatly reducing the data amount of time information to be transmitted. SOLUTION: A gateway 100 acquires global time (absolute time information) of a FlexRay network showing timing when a CAN (Controller Area Network) message is received in each CAN message received from ECUs (Electronic Control Unit) 10A and 10B connected to a CAN network, measures the communication cycle of a message to be received on the basis of the acquired time information, estimates the time information to be received next on the basis of the measured communication cycle of the message, compares the acquired time information with estimated time information to calculate an absolute time difference value, and switches time information to be added to the CAN message from the acquired time information to the absolute time difference value.
