A method and a system for providing short-distance call routing are provided to supply short-distance call routing to a destination terminal nearest to an originating terminal by using the position information of the originating terminal. A soft switch(110) receives the position information of an originating terminal and a destination terminal(115) from a location sever(120). Based on the received position information, the soft switch performs routing to a destination terminal nearest to an originating terminal. When receiving the position information from the soft switch, the location sever provides the soft switch with the position information for the routing. At this time, the location sever provides the position information of plural destination terminals to the soft switch by responding to the request.
