<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate comprising a protective film made of a cycloolefin resin, an cellulose acetate resin, etc. laminated on one side or both sides of a polyvinyl alcohol polarization film, wherein the protective film is excellent in adhesive property of a polarizing film and the protective film and in water resistance; and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is formed by laminating the protective film on at least one side of the polarization film made of the polyvinyl alcohol resin via an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer is formed of aqueous adhesive containing an anion denaturation polyvinyl alcohol resin and a water-dispersive polyisocyanate curing agent.
