The invention relates to a device for producing three-dimensional objects by successive consolidation of layers of a pulverulent build-up material, which can be consolidated by means of electromagnetic radiation, in particular laser radiation, at the locations corresponding to the respective object cross sections, wherein the device has a carrying device (2) for carrying the object with a carrier (3) having a top side (10) facing toward the object and wherein a coating device for applying layers of the material to the carrying device (2) or a previously formed layer is provided, and also an irradiating device which is used for irradiating layers of the material at the locations corresponding to the respective object cross section, wherein the carrier (3) is provided with at least one insertion recess (20) through which an especially elongate, prefabricated body (21) can be inserted substantially pointing downward, it being possible for a three-dimensional partial object to be integrally formed on the upwardly pointing end (head end 22) of said body by means of successive consolidation of layers of the build-up material. |
