<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device capable of increasing output power without increasing a methanol crossover rate by optimally controlling a flow rate of fuel according to an operational state, and to provide a driving method of the fuel cell device. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell device 10 includes an electromotive section 12 which has an anode 67 and a cathode 66 and generates electricity, a tank 28, a fuel channel 22 through which fuel supplied from the tank is made to flow via the anode side of the electromotive section, a flow regulator 36 which adjusts a flow rate of the fuel supplied to the anode, a sensor 38 which detects the amount of the fuel in the tank, and a cell control section 16. The cell control section causes the flow regulator section to adjust the fuel flow rate to an upper limit value of an adjustable range when an increase in the amount of the fuel in the tank is detected by the sensor and to adjust the fuel flow rate to a minimum necessary flow rate for an electricity generation operation when a reduction of the amount of the fuel in the tank is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
