<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve inconveniences in a conventional method such that a bicycle cannot be locked without terminating the use thereof, and a member cannot confirm use history or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the bicycle rental method of the present invention, user information is read by an information input device installed to a bicycle to thereby unlock the bicycle to be usable, the bicycle can be temporarily locked in the middle of use without terminating the use, and reused by releasing the temporary lock, and the usage fee from the use start to the use end is adjusted when the use is terminated. The bicycle rental device of the present invention that is a device for executing the method comprises a rental bicycle installed with an information input device and a lock device, and a management center which remotely manages operation and/or information of the rental bicycle.
