#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a rotating assembly (1) including a sphere provided with dark and light color hemispheres representing non-lighted and lighted parts of the moon, respectively. The sphere is placed in a watch in partial extension from main and small dials (4, 5). The dial (5) has a circular opening (7) provided with a bevel (8). The assembly has a rotational axle placed in a groove (11) of a support (12) that serves as a bearing. The axle is flattened below the dial (5) in a direction that driving height of the dial (5) permits precise adjustment of vertical shake of the axle. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Device for displaying moon phases, in a timepiece mechanism of a mechanical watch. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The configuration of the bearing assures reduced encumbrance of the device so as to improve the aesthetic appearance. The axle extends below the small dial in a direction that driving height of the dial permits precise adjustment of vertical shake of the axle, thus compensating recognized flatness defects of watch dials. The bevel of the circular opening of the dial facilitates the vision of an upper part of the sphere upto large circles or meridians of the sphere, till the geographical limit of dark and light hemispheres corresponding to the full moon and the new moon.
