PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water filling control device for a drum-type boiler capable of dispensing with an operation of a blow valve even if a water level of a steam drum rises in restarting, and keeping the water level within a prescribed range. SOLUTION: This water filling control device comprises a temperature transmitter 31 detecting a temperature in the steam drum 2, a function generator 32 storing information on the optimum high-order level as an optimum value of a high-order level corresponding to the temperature and transmitting an optimum high-order level signal S12 indicating the optimum high-order level on the basis of a temperature signal S11 indicating the actually-measured temperature, and a high-order level setter 34 comparing the actually-measured drum level signal S1 with the optimum high-order level signal S12, and transmitting a supply stop signal S3 for stopping the supply of the water at a time point when it is detected that the water level reaches the optimum high-order level.
