PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering device enabling to inform of the occurrence of malfunction and automatically stop the information of the occurrence of the malfunction when a driver recognizes it. SOLUTION: An electronic control unit inputs a detection value from each sensor in Step S12, and determines the malfunction of the sensor in Step S13. It stops the operation of an electric motor for transition into an assist stopping condition in Step S14, and informs the driver of the assist stopping condition in Step S15. In the condition, it inputs the detection value from the normal sensor in Step S16, and determines whether the input detection value is a determination reference value or greater, or not, in Step S17. Namely, in accordance with the determination, it determines whether the driver recognizes the transition into the assist stopping condition with the turning operation of a steering wheel, or not.
