<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method using an image forming apparatus equipped with a touchdown developing device, wherein high image quality is maintained and also productivity in image output is secured by controlling a toner thin layer on a toner carrier to have prescribed thickness. <P>SOLUTION: When forming the toner thin layer on the surface of the toner carrier, the thickness of the toner layer on the toner carrier is detected by a toner layer thickness detection means, and conveyance bias is changed from information on the detected thickness of the toner layer, to control the toner thin layer on the toner carrier to have the prescribed layer thickness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
