Slave device for use in a series connection and bus arrangement with series connection in a sub-bus system

The slave device (Slave1) has a resister (R1) arranged between potential inlets (E1-E4) and potential outlets (A1-A4). A changing unit changes a potential (An1) into a digital address, where the changing unit includes comparators for comparing the potential with a threshold value. Threshold values are fixed with the comparators by suitable selection of the resister, such that the changing unit outputs a clear address for the position of the slave device in series connection with similar slave devices.
