The device (1) has heating units e.g. infrared radiation generator (70), for heating an outer surface of a blanket cylinder (50) by radiation in a controlled manner, and temperature measuring units for measuring the temperature of ink found on the cylinder. Control units of the heating units are controlled by the temperature measurement units to regulate the temperature of the ink and flow of the ink during operation of the device without generating excessive waste of a strip to be printed (S) using the ink.
