A communication method in a wireless network is provided to increase the reliability of the multicast mechanism in the wireless network by enabling an access point to transmit a multicast message to a plurality of stations belonging to a multicast group, and then receive an ACK message from a reader station.. If a multicast group to which the first station(11) belongs wants to use the multicast-based reader service, the first station transmits a multicast-based reader service request(LBMS Request) message including the address of the multicast group to an access point(10)(S10). The access point transmits a multicast-based reader service report message(LBMS report message) to the first station(S11). When the multicast-based reader service is set up, the access point transmits a multicast message to the multicast group(S13). When stations receive the message, the first station transmits an ACK message to the access point(S14). The access point determines that the multicast message is successfully transmitted.
