Disclosed is a separation membrane complex (1) characterized by having a carbon membrane (66) formed directly on a porous material (61) (a surface layer (64)) and also having an interlayer (63) with a thickness of 10 to 100 µm. The separation membrane complex (1) can be used as a filter having improved flux and selectivity compared to a conventional one.
