<p>The present invention provides methods and compositions for the identification and validation of biornarkers. The methods and compositions of the invention include the use of exogenous molecules specifically designed and chosen to be associated with a particular disease or biological process. Biomarkers identified and used according to the invention can be indicative of a number of biological processes, including disease state, response to a therapeutic intervention (such as pharmacological treatment, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, combination therapies, and the like), and responses to physiological challenges (such as aging, environmental toxins, etc.). Biomarkers identified through the methods and compositions of the invention may also serve as targets of therapeutic interventions.</p> |
