PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which has high wear resistance, high scratch resistance and good electrical characteristics and excels in film smoothness particularly by uniform curing over the whole of a crosslinked surface layer, and which has good cleaning property and high durability and achieves higher image quality over a long period of time, by forming a photosensitive layer including a clear crosslinked surface layer, and to provide an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge for an image forming apparatus using such high-performance photoreceptors having a long operating life. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor contains a charge transport material having a substituted vinyl group and a polycarbonate having a cyclohexyl group linked to a main chain thereof.
