<p>The brushless dc motor has two or more stator windings connected to a control unit that allows the motor to be braked with a braking moment independent of speed. The control unit contains extra diodes (6) connected one to each control input of the stator windings. All these diodes have the same polarity and are connected via a single current regulator (8, 15) with constant reference level to the other terminals (4) of the stator windings. Each diode is connected by its cathode to the control input of its corresponding winding.</p>
