Loom weft picker driven by belt - passing around large arc of drive wheel at edge of warp and has apertures engaging teeth on wheel

A pair of weft pickers of a loom are driven by associated belts so that the weft is transfered from one weft picker to the other at the centre of the warp. Each belt has a row of apertures which are engaged by teeth on a drive wheel at the edge of the warp so that as the wheel reciprocates rotationally the belt is moved backwards and forwards across the warp. The belt passes around a substantial part of the periphery of the drive wheel. Wear on the belt (which may be of metal or synthetic material) is reduced. Also, vibration is reduced.
