Calcining plant for ores or minerals - such as phosphate(s), alumina or schist, where fine and coarse particles can be calcined for different times

The plant includes a heat exchanger, in which the initial material is dried and preheated before entering a vertical calcining chamber (I) fitted with >=1 burner. The upper part of chamber (I) has a tangential inlet for air leaving a cooler through which the calcined material flows, and the conical base of the chamber (I) leads to a cyclone (II) where the prod. is sepd. from the gases. Chamber (I) also has a top outlet for gas which travels into the upper part of cyclone (II) and this top outlet contains a swived shutter valve so the flow of gas can be controlled w.r.t. the amt. of calcined prod. and gas flowing out of the base of chamber (I). Different calcining times can be used for the coarse and fine particles in chamber (I), by adjusting the valve in the top gas outlet on chamber (I).
