Immobilisation of adenine contg. co-factors - by reaction with glycidyl acrylate, polymerisation and rearrangement

Cofactors having an adenine gp. are immobilised by incorporation into a polymer in a process in which the adenine ring is alkylated with a polymerisable cpd. in the presence of chlorate ions and at slightly acid pH, and in a second stage, the prod. is polymerised whilst at the same time undergoing a Dimroth rearrangement. The prods. are useful for carrying out biological or chemical reactions on a laboratory or industrial scale. The prods. have an activity that can be controlled to any desired level up to about 40% cofactor and may be soluble or insol.
