PURPOSE:To compensate for drift and to compensate for the sensitivity of balance beam continuously, by providing a variable amplification factor amplifier which controls the balance output of the sample side based on the balance output of the reference side. CONSTITUTION:At first, the relationship between the change in a length l of a reference balance beam 2 and the balance output is checked. A function generator 14 is adjusted so that the amplification factor setting input to the variable amplification factor differential amplifier 13 is outputted based on said relationship. The sample 5 is introduced into a container 4 and heated by a heater 3. The balance beam 1 is slanted by the reduction in the weight of the sample and the elongation of the length l of the balance beam 1. The slant is detected by a lamp 8, a shutter 9, and a photo cell 10. A current (i) is flowed through a coil 7 so that horizontal equilibrium is obtained. The reference balance beam 2 is likewise slanted by the elongation of the length l, and a current (i') is flowed. The balance output (i-i') of the sample side whose drift is compensated by the amplifier 13 is set, the sensitivity compensation corresponding to the elongation of l is applied, and the result is outputted to a recorder 15. |
