Hot-air insert for an open fireplace, with an air distributor box (13), from which the cold air supplied is conducted through a grate (25), which is situated in the fire region of the fireplace and has a series of air heating pipes (17) lying next to one another, and further air heating elements (8) which run approximately parallel to the rear side and upper side of the fireplace and which open into an upper collecting space (10), from which the hot air is distributed to outlet openings, the air distributor box (3) being arranged between the grate (25) and the air-heating elements (8), and the insert for receiving the air heated in the grate (25) having at least one hot-air collecting chamber (1, 2) which is separate from the air distributor box (3) and which is flow-connected to the upper collecting space (10) of the insert. <IMAGE>
