PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy of a head and to attain the recording with high density by calculating the correction value for head positioning according to the number of a specific track and the levels of temperature and humidity and giving a minute displacement to a stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:Sensors 22 and 23 detect the temperature and humidity with high accuracy, and a track counting means 33 counts the number of tracks on a magnetic disk and can specific an optional track with high accuracy. While the deflection of each track due to the changes of temperature and humidity is previously measured. Then the head positioning correction value is decided previously for each track in order to position a magnetic head with high accuracy in accordance with the deflection of each track. This correction value is stored in a head position correcting value memory/arithmetic means 32. The stationary position set for a stepping motor which feeds the head every track after stepped revolutions can be deflected by a minute amount by controlling an internal magnetic field of the stepping motor. |
