PURPOSE:To attain ease of channel selection by informing the name of a broadcast station for a tuned reception radio wave in voice. CONSTITUTION:The oscillating frequency signal from an FM local oscillation circuit 6a or an AM station oscillating circuit 6b is subject to frequency division by a frequency division circuit 11 and the result is given to a phase comparison circuit 12. A signal representing the reception frequency of a radio broadcast high frequency from the circuit 11 is inputted to a processing circuit 18 realized by a microcomputer via an interface 16. Pushbuttons S3, S4 are operated for channel selection and the channel selection by counting up the lower frequency or counting down the higher frequency. The circuit 18 activates a speech synthesis LSI when the pushbutton S5 is depressed only to read the broadcast station name stored in a memory 24 and the name is informed through a speaker 10 in voice.
