METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PNEUMATIC CONVEYANCE OF LUMPED MUD FOR CLOSING TAP HOLE OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To increase the working space in front of a blast furnace and to improve the efficiency of packing lumped mud into mud guns by pneumatically conveying the mud from a remote position into the mud guns disposed around the blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:A mud case 1 is disposed in a place part from the blast furnace B. The spherical mud M fed from the case 1 is charged by each piece from a supply spout 6 into a mud supply valve device 8 and thereafter, the mud is supplied by each piece into a pneumatic conveyance pipe 9 by the compressed air supplied from a supply valve 10. The pneumatic conveyance pipe 9 has a branch part 13 and changes over the conveying rout from a main pipe 91 to branch pipes 92 according to the working condition of the individual mud guns, thereby successively changing over the individual mud guns 12 to be supplied with the spherical mud M.
