The invention relates to a process for collecting together peat which has been detached from a bog 1. This is a process for conveying strands, in which the peat is first of all collected in oblong strands 2 which are then conveyed to stacks 4. According to the invention, the strands 2 are conveyed to stacks 4 essentially in the longitudinal direction of the strands. In this connection, the stacks 4 can be formed at the edges of the bog 1 transversely in relation to the direction of the strands 2, thereby enabling the peat to be removed along roads which are located at the sides of the stacks. When conveying the strands 2, use can be made of machines 5 which are provided with elevators 6, which move in the direction of the strands and which convey the strands both when they move towards the stack 4 and when they move away from it. <IMAGE> |
