PURPOSE:To reduce variance in energy characteristics by equalizing the X-ray absorption coefficient of a spacer between adjacent scintillator elements at a coupling part between multichannel X-ray detector blocks to that of spacers other at the coupling part. CONSTITUTION:A detector for X-ray CT is constituted by arranging plural multichannel X-ray detection blocks 10 in parallel. Each block is formed by arranging scintillator elements 1 and spacers 2 alternately and coupling multichannel photodiodes 4 optically with the visible light projection surfaces of the elements 1. Here, a spacer 2 is provided at one end part of the block 10 so as to equalize the X-ray absorption coefficient of the spacer 2a which is present between adjacent elements 1a and 1b at the part of the coupling part 11 of the block 10 to that of a spacer 2 between adjacent elements 1 other than at the coupling part 11, but no spacer is provided at the other end part. All the spacers 2 are made of the same material to the same thickness (d). Consequently, the X-ray absorption coefficient at the coupling part 11 becomes equal to that of any other part and the variance in energy characteristics due to the ray quality dependency of crosstalk is reduced. |
