The target support has on its base a retaining element (3) with an incision (4) into which a target can be inserted. The retaining element is provided with a hole (5) which runs at right angles to the incision (4). A ball (7) which is arranged in the hole (5) is pressed by a spring (8) in the direction of the incision, as a result of which the inserted target is held firmly. <IMAGE>
