VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a vinyl chloride resin composition improved in transparency and impact resistance by mixing a specified graft copolymer with a vinyl chloride resin. CONSTITUTION:60-100wt.% butadiene (i) is emulsion-polymerized with 40-0wt.% aromatic vinyl monomer (ii), 10-0wt.% vinyl monomer (iii) copolymerizable therewith and 5-0wt.% crosslinking monomer (iv) to obtain a water-based latex (a) of a butadiene polymer of a mean particle diameter of below 0.1mum. 51-100wt.% component (ii) is mixed with 49-0wt.% alkyl methacrylate (v) and 0-20wt.% vinyl monomer (vi) copolymerizable therewith to obtain a monomer mixture (b). 51-100wt.% component (v) is mixed with 49-0wt.% component (ii) and 0-20wt.% component (vi) to obtain a monomer mixture (c). A water-soluble electrolyte is added to an aqueous latex containing 50-85 pts.wt. component (a), and 5 pts.wt. component (b) is added to this latex and polymerized. 5-45 pts.wt. (the total of components (a)-(c) is 100 pts.wt.) component (c) is added and polymerized to obtain a graft copolymer (A) of a mean particle diameter of 0.1-0.3mum. 1-30wt.% component A is mixed with 99-70wt.% vinyl chloride resin to obtain the title composition.
