A clip 1 for securing an article to a moulding 30, comprises a non-metallic moulding- engaging member 2 having a pair of opposed hook like portions 4, 5 adjacent its ends adapted to be snap-engaged over the moulding, a resilient reinforcing band 3 which is clamped over the upper surface of the moulding-engaging member 2 remote from the hook like portions 4, 5 and which has a stabilizing flange 14 extending angularly outwardly thereof beyond one end of the moulding engaging member, and means adapted to cooperatively receive a fastener for securing the clip to the article. As shown, in which a plurality of the clips is used to secure a hood cover 17 to a hood-receiving well of a convertible vehicle, the band 3 is formed with a pair of bent up fingers 15 which are engaged in an aperture 22 in a stiffener member 20 and secured thereto by a substantially U-shaped plate spring fastener 24 passed over the fingers 15. The flange 14 is passed through an aperture 23 in the stiffener member which is subsequently secured to a foam rubber backing 19 of the cover 17. In an alternative arrangement, the fastener 24 is replaced by a rivet passing through aligned openings 10, 16, 22 and overlying the stiffener member 20 and the undersurface of the member 2 adjacent a recess 9. |
