摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce color irregularities in an LED backlight for a liquid crystal display device, to improve luminance and to reduce power consumption, and to thin the liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: An RGB LED for composing a full-color LED is arranged on a mount plate 10 so that respective highest luminance points 32R, 32G, 32B of illumination light (regions indicated by 31R, 31G, 31B) of LEDs onto a diffusion plate 20 are nearly in agreement on the surface of the diffusion plate 20. Concretely speaking, the LED for composing the full-color LED is inclined to the mount plate surface, and center axes 30R, 30G, 30B of the light radiation angle of the RGB LED are allowed to cross mutually in an optical path reaching the surface of the diffusion plate 20. With this configuration, respective highest luminance points of irradiation light from the LED are essentially in agreement on the surface of the diffusion plate, thus uniformizing the ratio of luminance of irradiation light from each LED on the surface of the diffusion plate and hence reducing color irregularities in the LED backlight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
