The invention relates to a mechanically actuated automatic dual wet clutch unit to be operated in a liquid-tight housing for a transmission comprising two input shafts, said clutch having an interstice with narrow tolerances between the surfaces of the friction disks, the average interstice in an open position ranging from approximately 0.05 mm to approximately 0.25 mm.
