PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately and quickly judge an abnormality of a change-over part introducing exhaust gas to adsorbent adsorbing unburned fuel.

SOLUTION: When abnormality is judged due to fixation to an open state caused by freezing of an exhaust gas change-over valve in a judgment process of open close abnormality of the exhaust gas change-over valve right after start of an engine, judgment process of open close abnormality of the exhaust change-over valve is executed again (S120-S160) if integrated value Slow of degree of rise ΔTlow of downstream side exhaust gas temperature which is temperature at a downstream side of an HC adhesion part exceeds threshold Sref equivalent to heat necessary for melting ice adhering on the exhaust gas change-over valve. Consequently, fixation to the open state of the exhaust gas change-over valve caused by freezing is not quickly defined as open close abnormality of the exhaust gas change-over valve.
