PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically measure PO<SB>4</SB>-P in a continuous, accurate and safe manner. SOLUTION: A phosphorus measuring apparatus 1 electrochemically measures the concentration of PO<SB>4</SB>-P in sample water by a flow injection analysis means 2a, provided with a mixed solution of ammonium molybdate and sulfuric acid as a reagent solution. The flow injection analysis means 2a includes an injection valve 3 for injecting the reagent solution or sample water into a carrier solution; a mixer 4 for mixing the carrier solution, the reagent solution, and the sample water; and a flow cell 5 for detecting current changes based on the reaction between the reagent solution and the sample water supplied from the mixer 4. The ammonium molybdate concentration of the reagent solution or of the mixed solution is prepared to 8-10 g/L.
