PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent a scratch to the surface of a keypad when the keypad is cut using a laser beam. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a switch member includes placing a keypad composed of a plurality of key tops connected to each other on a laser cutting jig, and emitting a laser beam onto the keypad to cut it into the plurality of key tops. The manufacturing method thus includes: a placing step (step S101) of matching a cut position of the keypad with a groove of the laser cutting jig and placing the keypad on the laser cutting jig; and a key top dividing step (step S103) of causing the laser beam to make scanning along the groove of the laser cutting jig to cut the keypad into the plurality of key tops.
