PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device capable of changing an embodiment so that even a beginner can use the photographing device efficiently and simply. SOLUTION: An operation section cover 30 is attached onto the back of a digital camera 10 with grooves 28a, 28b for exposing upper and lower ends (upper-and lower-button sections) 25a, 25b of a cross key 25 from openings 32a, 32b. In the groove 28b, there is an attachment detection sensor 35 detecting the attachment of the operation section cover 30. A control section sets photographing conditions, where setting operation is disabled by the attachment of the operation section cover 30, to preset conditions for beginners when the attachment detection sensor 35 detects the attachment of the operation section cover 30, and the lower buttons 25a, 25b exposed from the openings 32a, 32b are changed to a strobe setting button and a self-timer setting one, respectively, for a function change, thus changing the embodiment of the digital camera 10 to a simple camera that can be operated easily.
