<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus capable of continuing recording even if a copy free broadcast program changes to a copy once broadcast program during the recording. <P>SOLUTION: When a broadcast program is being recorded in a recording medium 3 in a Video format 43a, a recording control means 41 having a microcomputer 4 stops the recording, and a recording format selection means 42 changes a recording format to a VR (Video Recording) format 43b when a copyright protection information detection means 44 detects copyright protection information from broadcast radio waves. When a file system is recorded in the VR format 43b in finalization, data recorded in the Video format create a prescribed directory, and are recorded so that they belong to the directory, thus setting the recording medium 3 to be a recording medium, where data are recorded in the VR format 43b, without losing the recorded data in the Video format 43a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
