PURPOSE: An electron gun for color CRT is provided to form a uniform electron beam spot all over the phosphor screen through the use of a low dynamic focus voltage, while correcting distortion of electron beam caused due to the difference of focus length. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun(30) comprises a cathode(31) forming a triode portion; a control electrode(32); a screen electrode(33); first and second focus electrodes(34,35) sequentially aligned from the screen electrode, and which form an auxiliary lens and a main lens and have a quadrupole lens forming unit; and a final accelerating lens(36) arranged adjacent to the second focus electrode, and which has a focusing force in a horizontal direction rather than in a vertical direction. A focus voltage is applied to the first focus electrode, and a base voltage lower than the focus voltage is synthesized with the dynamic voltage synchronized with the deflection signal. A dynamic focus voltage having a maximum peak value lower than the focus voltage, is applied to the second focus electrode. |
