PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor assembly and a hard disk drive where impact resistance characteristic can be improved while a CSS system where cost for manufacturing is reduced, a wasteful space is reduced and a storing capacity can be increased is applied. SOLUTION: The hard disk drive is provided with a disk 150 for storing/reproducing information where data is recorded/reproduced by a reading/writing head and where an area P in which the reading/writing head is parked is provided; a spindle motor 160 which rotates and drives the disk and which has a hub 165 to insert the disk; and clamping members 120 and 220 which press and contact on the disk to fix the disk to the hub. At the outer periphery parts of the clamping members, vibration restriction parts 125 and 225 which are provided annularly are formed so as to face the parking area by being vertically separated with a prescribed distance.
