PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-functional switching control method for a private telephone system and a multi-functional telephone set therefor in which a command allocation to an operating button of the multi-functional telephone set connected to a private branch exchange can be easily changed. SOLUTION: A multi-functional switching control method of the present invention includes selecting any one of a plurality of allocation patterns, retrieving an identification code corresponding to operated one of a plurality of function buttons from the one allocation pattern (S12), and transmitting an operating button notification containing the retrieved identification code to a private branch exchange (S14).
