PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for a grill capable of uniformly burning a cooked object without uneven cooking, and reducing gas consumption without impairing ignition performance and stability in combustion. SOLUTION: A combustion plate 8 disposed on the burner for the grill is provided with a non-dense burner port area 8a where burner ports 81 are arranged in a non-dense state, and a dense burner port area 8b which surrounds the non-dense burner port area 8a and where the burner ports 81 are arranged with density higher than that of the non-dense area. A counterbore portion 83 is formed on a rear face part of the non-dense burner port area 8a of the combustion plate 8, and a plate thickness of the non-dense burner port area 8a of the combustion plate 8 is thinner than that of the dense burner port area 8b.
