PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by reducing a voltage amplitude of a data signal Sj supplied to a data line 114. SOLUTION: When a scan signal Ysi supplied to a scan line 112 is set to a high level, the data signal Sj having a voltage corresponding to a gradation and a write polarity is applied to the data line 114. In this case, electric charges corresponding to the voltage of the data signal Sj are stored in a liquid crystal capacity C<SB>LC</SB>and a storage capacity C<SB>stg</SB>because a TFT 116 is turned on. Thereafter, when the scan signal Ysi is set to a low level to turn off the TFT 116 and a voltage in the other end of the storage capacity C<SB>stg</SB>is raised from a low level-side capacity voltage Vst(-) to a high level-side capacity voltage Vst(+), charges corresponding to the rise are distributed to the liquid crystal capacity C<SB>LC</SB>.
