PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the attachment and detachment of a back surface panel to/from a shelf post, to reduce showcase assembly man-hours and to facilitate maintenance work on the spot. SOLUTION: For an open showcase, a merchandise display chamber with an open front surface is sectioned inside a main body case composed of a heat insulation wall, multiple stages of merchandise shelves are installed inside the merchandise display chamber, and the back surface panel 14 of the merchandise display chamber is attached to the shelf post 11 (16, 17) supported by the main body case from the front. In the open showcase, dowels 14a are projectingly formed on the left and right side faces of the back surface panel 14, a recessed part 11a corresponding to the dowel 14a is formed on the side face of the shelf post 11, the back surface panel 14 is pushed into the shelf post 11 from the front, the dowel 14a is fitted to the recessed part 11a, and the back surface panel 14 is attached to the shelf column 11. The back surface panel 14 is easily attached and detached without being fixed with screws, and screw holes are not widened by the repetition of the detachment and attachment.
