<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which shortens warming-up of a fuel cell and can take out generating output from right after starting without bringing about a performance deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: Auxiliary cells 4a, 4b to which an electrode having same polarity as the polarity of a current collector is connected are installed at the outside of the current collectors 5a, 5b at the both ends of a fuel cell stack 2. The auxiliary cells 4a, 4b are connected electrically in parallel to the end part cell in the fuel cell stack 2 through switches 22a, 22b. A controller 20 closes the switches 22a, 22b according to temperatures detected by the temperature sensors 21a, 21b at the start of the fuel cell system, and by connecting the auxiliary cells 4a, 4b to the end part cell of the fuel cell stack 2, assists in the generating capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
