DISPLAY DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for manufacture a high reliability display device at a low cost with a good yield. SOLUTION: A spacer is formed on a pixel electrode layer to protect the pixel electrode layer from a mask when forming an electroluminescence layer. Also, since a layer containing an organic material with water permeability is sealed in the display device with a sealant and the sealant is not brought into contact with the layer containing the organic material, the light emitting elements can be prevented from being deteriorated by contaminants such as water. The sealant is formed in a part of a driving circuit area of the display device, and consequently, the narrow frame of the display device can also be attained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
