PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a shading member efficiently and appropriately when the shading member shade the light from illumination light. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a chopper for intercepting illumination light from ramp, and movement of the chopper is controlled by pulse width modulation driving circuit. When displaying dynamic image, to maintain a shading member of chopper in retracted position, an A signal is output to solenoid as a series of pulse signals, and a B signal is output as a signal of Low level. When displaying still image, to move the shading member of the chopper from retracted position to the shading position, B signal is output to solenoid as a series of pulse signals, A signal is output as a signal of Low level.
